Hello all! :) I haven't blogged in a long time, I haven't gotten back into the swing of things (since the main computer was down). I have also been doing some reading. My friend Angie let me borrow this book called Dorie: The Girl Nobody Loved. It was a GREAT book. Eye opening and just the type of book that I couldn't put down. I started reading it on Friday night and I finished last night. I had a hard time putting it down. Well, it is written by Doris van Stone and she tells her story- being a child who is rejected by her own mother, living in an orphanage for 7 years, living in a few foster homes and being mistreated and unloved the whole way. Thank God, though, she came to know the Lord as her Savior and HE was the one who got her to where she is today. You MUST read this book, if you haven't already. It made me see how blessed I am, in the first place to have known love from when I was born. My parents were such hard workers and loving parents to both my brother and I. God has blessed me with a wonderful support group in my life and without many of those people, I wouldn't be where I am today.
Well, I wanted to write about my little girl too! She's been such a big helper to us all. During the week, she helped me to clean up alot. She especially loves to help me empty out the dishwasher. (I make sure that all the breakable stuff and sharp stuff are put away.) She gets the cups, bowls, plates and helps me to dry the off with her own towel. ;) She passes them to my one by one and say "tank goo"... each time! ;) (Oh, that's thank you in Rachel language.) Well, she has fun and to tell you the truth, so do I now!
Also, she likes to play this game of closing the door and saying "bye mama" and acts like she's leaving. She even blows kisses to me like we do before we ever leave each other. ;) That's too funny. She walks backwards as she closes the door and tries to close the door all the way without smashing her little fingers.
Yesterday, Mom and Dad watched Rachel while Ben and I had a much needed date to the movies. (We saw Spiderman 3, I will have to write about that later!) Well, from what I heard from mom and dad, Rachel helped them out tremendously while they were planting some new flowers. They said she was a great helper and would do as they asked her to do... getting dirt out of the bag with a small shovel and putting it around the flowers that they planted. Also, she would water the plants with her own little watering can. She got really wet and dirty, BUT she loved it! Mom and Dad gave her a NICE bath and got her all cleaned up. It was fun to hear the excitement from my parents telling me all the help she was! :) What a hard little worker.
Well, I better go. Ben is getting ready for his LAST week of school! Can you believe summer is almost here! He is making a slide show for his 7th grade class and he does such a wonderful job each time! :) He's done it for 3 years now and each one was SUPERB! He needs this computer to do some work, so BYE for now and God bless you! I am leaving you with these words that God has shown to me throughout the week, go to your bible and read it if you have a chance... 1 Thessalonians 5:18. It's a verse to live by! :) Have a great Sunday!
